Agriculture Sprayer Maintenance Tips

Agriculture sprayers are so useful and durable, that you might take their continued performance for granted. But like all equipment and machinery, continued operation leads to wear and tear, and if you’re not performing regular maintenance, that could be expensive to service or repair. If you want to keep your agricultural sprayer in good health and avoid breakdowns, it pays to keep up with maintenance.

Consult the Owner’s Manual

Start by checking your equipment’s owner’s manual to see what the manufacturer recommends. After all, the company that built the sprayer would have comprehensive knowledge about it. See if there are any suggested maintenance tasks, a maintenance schedule, and cleaning products to use or avoid.

It’s also a good idea to understand the limitations of your implements so you can avoid overloading or overworking. Otherwise, it can considerably speed up the wear and result in damage. Learn the implement’s performance potential and stay safely within those limits.

Visual Inspection

Give your agricultural sprayer a thorough visual inspection. Check for leaks, loose hoses, or misplaced cables. Leaks can be fixed by tightening the attachments or making sure that the hoses are connected securely.

When the sprayer is used, there is a normal amount of vibration that occurs. However, this vibration can loosen the nuts, bolts, and washers. Remember to frequently check these and tighten them if required.
